Ningxia Baota Petrochemical Group is a local multiple petrochemical enterprise with eight year's history. The group was founded in March 2003, and has formed a strategy development model with three parts. The first one is the refining chemical industry part with chemical products as its center and oil refining as its base. The second is the research and development part, which take Yinchuan University as its center and design institute and application technique research institute as its supplement strength. The third is development industry part that takes the integrated project zone, the basis of heavy chemical industry of east part of Ningxia as its center.

The refining chemical industry part of Baota Group has 13 sets of production plants, of which 5 sets of nonpressure equipment that can process 2, 100, 000 tons base oil each year. 4 sets of catalysis equipments with 650, 000 tons processing capacity annually, a set of gas fractionation unit that can produce 100, 000 tons of oil liquefied gas, a set of MTBE equipment can produce 15000 tons of MTBE annually, a set of polypropylene equipment can produce 40, 000 tons of polypropylene annually and a set of cold pressing dewaxing equipment with 15000 tons of processing capacity annually. The group has a special oil products warehousing and transportation company (obtained the oil product wholesale business license issued by National Trade of Board on March 15, 2004, the certificate number is 643006) and the railway special line with 250, 000 cubic meters of base oil warehousing capacity and 100, 000 cubic meters of product oil warehousing ability. The products mainly are gasoline, diesel oil, liquefied gas, paraffin wax, heavy traffic petroleum asphalt, propylene and polypropylene, etc. The company presently has over 2000 staff and workers and RMB1300, 000, 000 total capital assets. The products of the company mainly are gasoline engine fuel oil, diesel engine fuel oil, 54#, 56#, 58# semi-refined paraffin wax, heavy diesel oil, heavy oil, LPG, naphtha and asphalt , etc. All the products have obtained the petrochemical production license issued by Hui Autonomous Region of Ningxia.

·Raw materials and sources

The raw materials like petroleum crude oil, heavy diesel oil and heavy oil are mainly from three sources. The first is the principle channel supply. As the association of Sinopec Corporation, Baota Petrochemical gets some of its crude oil allocation from Sinopec Corporation. The second is society purchase and allocation from local government. Thirdly, Shanganning Changqing Oil Field also supplies some of crude oil. The above three channels can supply 1, 500, 000-2, 000, 000 tons of crude oil which can meet the essential production requirement.

The group achieved RMB1.3 billion of sales revenue and turned over totally RMB0.1 billion of interest and tax in 2004.

⑴ The heavy traffic petroleum asphalt and plant site of Factory Three has advantageous geographical position with the west-east gas pipeline running across, which provide the convenient condition for them to deep process the natural gas.

⑵ The development of petroleum resources of Lingyan and Yinchuan plain have been listed in the development program of the national and autonomous region. The factories of our group are located in these two resource development area, and we can make full use the advantageous geographical position to take part in the development of the local oil field.
